Halwa with Cornmeal and Saffron

You know there are times when all you want is some desi nasta (breakfast). Well that was me on Sunday. I wanted some good old Halwa with puri or roti plus some chana. You can't be any more traditional than that. But I had no semolina but had a large packet of cornmeal. And you know what it worked. The warm soggy halwa wrapped into the roti with the beautiful aroma to the saffron and the crunch of the nuts and coconut, was something out of this world.
